Not meeting in person at the church but note that we will be again at the church next Sunday, June 21, please find information below on how to watch this week’s message on YouTube.

Reopening Planning

Churches in NY have been given the OK to congregate up to 50% capacity with distancing restrictions in place and we will be meeting at the church next Sunday, June 21. Please read the guidelines that have been supplied below before arriving and contact the church if you have any questions. We will continue to provide a video stream to those that are not yet able to meet in person, and will supply more info about how to access that as soon as possible.

  1. Reopening Phases – the planned approach to handling church gatherings

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Update
A few months ago we’d received great feedback via survey regarding starting a MOPS program – thank you! We’re continuing to pursue this and will be in communication with other area churches in the next few weeks to gauge interest in working together to bring the program to Owego.

Small Groups
Lots of groups have begun meeting in different capacities – some via Zoom, others outdoors, some indoors, at the park, in the fellowship hall, etc. If you do not have a group that you meet regularly with, could you please let us know? We’d love to plug you in with brothers and sisters in Christ that are local to your area.

VBS Vision
This year has been stretching the DMC to think outside the box with regard to our goals for disciplemaking at Lakeview Chapel. As such, we’re proposing to do VBS a little differently this year.

A few months ago, we purchased the 2-day “Anchored” VBS resource from an organization called Group, which includes music, stories, crafts, and games. This year, we’d like VBS to come to the homes of church families who will host a 2-day program for the neighborhood. That means that if you have some space outdoors and would enjoy having children come learn and play together at your home, YOU can be a host.

We’ll also need volunteers to help facilitate the program at those homes – if you’re able to commit to sharing the gospel to a small group of kids through music, crafts, stories, or games for a few hours over the span of 2 days, WE WANT YOU!

This is a little different than the way VBS had been held in the past – previously we aimed for a large event, coordinating a lot of volunteers’ schedules, etc. This year, we’re hoping to go wide with smaller groups of kids in multiple times and places where we can encourage friends and neighbors to come over to homes they’re familiar with. We’ll go through the program together before running it at home, to equip you to lead & host. Will you help us to spread the gospel as local missionaries this year? Let’s build His Kingdom together!

If you’re excited about the possibilities of hosting or helping to lead, could you contact Patti Wolfe, or Pastor Dave and let them know about that in the next week? It will help us a lot as we work through scheduling.

Praises & Prayer Requests – Please email praises & prayer requests to pastordave@lakeviewowego.com so we can continue to pray with and for one another.
